Upgrade to an Energy Efficient Heat Pump
Energy-efficient heat pumps offer a win-win solution. The City of Bellevue has partnered with four other Eastside cities (Issaquah, Kirkland, Mercer Island and Redmond) and multiple community partners to help our residents learn about and access energy-efficient heat pump technology.
Upgrade your heating system to a heat pump to:
- save energy
- lower your carbon footprint by using electricity instead of fossil fuels
- access both heating and cooling for your home!
We have partnered with a leading heat pump distributor, Gensco, and pre-selected high quality contractors who are committed to serving our communities through this campaign.
The first step is to sign up at energysmarteastside.org to get on the list to attend a one-hour virtual workshop. At the workshop, you will learn more about heat pump technology and applicable incentives/financing and hear from an expert installer. After the workshop, you can have your home assessed to help you consider the installation of the heat pump system that works best for you.
Why a heat pump campaign?
Transitioning to energy efficient heat pumps can help reduce emissions in the community because heating our homes and businesses account for about 30% of our collective carbon emissions. This technology can also provide cooling on days it is needed, which is especially important in the summer months with excessive heat and/or smoke related events occurring more frequently.
