    Kelsey Creek Farm's programs emphasize its uniqueness with children's recreational programs, seasonal camps, pony care and farm experience classes, farm-themed tours and many volunteer opportunities.

    Little Farmers (2-3 Y)

    Join us for hands-on fun in the barn and barnyard with your 2-3 year-old. Classes will feature various farm animals, seasonal themes, barn chores, feeding and petting farm animals, crafts, parallel play, and a pony ride - all the fun is right here! Children team up with an adult to actively participate in this class. Come dressed to play inside and outside and get dirty! Siblings under two are welcome in front or back packs. Each session focuses on a different set of animals and will have different activities. Some activities and animals will overlap each session but many will be new.

    Private Trail Rides (2-5 Y)

    Your child will get to ride one of our adorable ponies on a private ride through the trails at Kelsey Creek Farm! Your child will learn the basics of horseback riding and experience the farm in a whole new way! Parents/guardians may choose to walk along, but no strollers allowed. "Private Trail Rides Waitlist" available as separate program, adding to the waitlist will add you to the waitlist for all sessions.

    Private Trail Rides will return in the spring.

    Racoon Roundup (2 - 7 Y)

    Have you seen a racoon lately? Many of them live in our neighborhoods. Come with your toddler and learn more about these resourceful and adaptable animal neighbors, impersonate a racoon, and enjoy racoon snacks and crafts. Adult/child teams only.

    Adventures in Pioneer Farming

    Enjoy a morning immersed in farm life. Spend time with our animals and learn about pioneer farming in our historic log cabin that was built in 1888. Activities will include learning how to grind wheat into flour, feeding a snack to the farm animals, and making crafts with real wool from our sheep. Children will have fun experiencing what life was like a hundred years ago. Adult/child teams only.

    Cartooniversity Camp

    Join professional cartoonist Jeff Johnson for a unique opportunity for kids of all skill levels to explore the art of cartooning in an encouraging, positive classroom environment at Kelsey Creek Farm. Surrounded by historic dairy barns and the farm animals that call Kelsey Creek Farm, "home," students will have plenty of inspiration to create their own cartoons. A series of fun, challenging projects showcase multiple areas of study including faces, bodies, character development, layout, perspective, lettering and much more.     Baking Bonanza (10-15 Y)

    Are you interested in baking? Come learn to bake a different treat each week, master baking basics, and enjoy the delicious results in this weekly drop-off program! We'll make cookies, cakes, and more, and discuss important foundational methods for the tasty art of baking. Recipe cards included.

    After School Teen Volunteer Program (12-18 Y)

    Assist Kelsey Creek Farm staff with farm chores and learn responsible animal care while earning service hours for school. Participants will be working outside exposed to animals, hay, vegetation and dust. Participants must be capable of understanding and following directions. Volunteers need to be able to attend the first two weeks of the program. Teens will be required to show acceptable proof of vaccination or negative COVID test within previous 72 hours each time they arrive to the program.

    Saturday Morning Teen Volunteer Program (15-18 Y)

    Assist Kelsey Creek Farm staff with farm chores and learn responsible animal care while earning service hours for school. Participants will be working outside exposed to animals, hay, vegetation and dust. Participants must be capable of understanding and following directions. Volunteers need to be able to attend the first two weeks of the program. Teens will be required to show acceptable proof of vaccination or negative COVID test within previous 72 hours each time they arrive to the program.

    • Ages: 15-18 Y
    • Hours/Dates: The Saturday morning Teen Volunteer Program will take a break for summer and will return in the fall.

    Weekday Adult Volunteers

    This is an opportunity to learn about livestock care and farm maintenance, as volunteers assist Kelsey Creek Farm staff with daily operations, animal chores, and learn responsible animal care. Volunteers will be working outside, exposed to animals, hay, vegetation, and dust. They will work independently and be physically active. All volunteers will be required to complete a criminal background check and provide their Social Security number.
    • Ages: 18+
    • Hours / Dates: Weekday Adult Volunteers will return January 2023

    Stitch Circle

    Bring your current fiber project to Kelsey Creek Farm and work on it while meeting fellow crafters. This is an opportunity to gather, chat, and work on projects while meeting new people, not a formal class. Bring your own materials. Pre-registration encouraged. Questions?     Learn to Make Goat Milk Soap

    Join Kandi & Beth for a one-and-a-half-hour class on Goat Milk. Each attendee will make approximately 2 pounds of soap. You will receive your own molds and all the supplies to create two loaves of soap in two different scents. A variety of scents will be available to customize your batch. Take home your soap to cure and a recipe to make it again.

    Learn to Make a Wet Felted Scarf

    Join Kandi & Beth in the Farmhouse to learn the tricks wet felting and finish a beautiful scarf out of silk and merino wool. We will lead you through the wet felting process and you will leave with a lovely scarf plus the confidence to wet felt on your own!

    Learn to Make Wet Felted Slippers

    Join Kandi & Beth in this class where you will learn how to felt over a resist and create a wonderful pair of slippers for some very happy feet! We will take you step-by-step through the process of wet felting. Once you learn the basic process, you will be able to finish your slippers at home and then embellish to your liking. You can use your knowledge to fashion unique slippers again and again! All roving, soap, & resist included. Please bring a bath towel and a hand towel plus a plastic bag to bring home your slippers.
