    Bellevue Youth Theatre

The Bellevue Youth Theatre is dedicated to providing theater arts opportunities for all young people, regardless of income or ability. The Theatre stages quality productions that are both entertaining and socially relevant.

Bellevue Youth Theatre - "Oblio and the Pointless Forest"

BYT blends the wisdom of children with the youthful enthusiasm of seniors. People with disabilities, families and senior citizens are encouraged to participate. (All adult participants are required to have a background check on file at the theater, which is good for one calendar year.)

If you audition, we will find a place for you on stage. Acting is not the only area open to participants either. There are places here for people interested in set design and construction, lighting design and operation, costuming or stage crew. No prior experience is required. The staff and volunteers will gladly assist you in your area of choice.

The Bellevue Youth Theatre Foundation supports our program through a variety of fundraising activities. BYTF provides needed items for the theatre not covered in the budget. They also bring in artists and designers.

    Mission

BYT's mission is to provide opportunities in the performing arts for all young people, regardless of income or ability, and allow them to perform before a live audience. At the same time, the theater provides the community with quality productions, which are both entertaining and socially relevant for the entire family.

    Vision

BYT will continue to serve its target group of middle- and high-school students through a theater program that involves the broader community in a safe, welcoming environment that removes barriers to participation.

Tickets for shows at the Bellevue Youth Theatre may be purchased in advance by visiting or contacting the box office (see hours under "Contact Info" at right). Seating is assigned, so purchasing tickets early is recommended. You must prepay to reserve your seats. We cannot hold tickets without prepayment. There are no refunds or exchanges once tickets are purchased. The Bellevue Youth Theatre accepts cash, check, Visa and MasterCard. Phone orders must pay by Visa or MasterCard.

Do I need to purchase a ticket for my baby/toddler?

You do not need to purchase a ticket for your baby/toddler if you are planning to hold him/her in your lap. If you need a seat for your child, you will be required to purchase a ticket. Please do not bring a car seat into the theatre unless you put it on a chair for which you have already purchased a ticket. Car seats can be a trip hazard for audience members and actors when placed on the floor or in aisles.

    Do you offer senior/child discounts?

No. All tickets are the same price regardless of age.

    Do you offer group discounts?

    Yes!
For 10 or more tickets purchased for the same show date and time, tickets are $10.

Note: you cannot exchange these tickets for another show date unless you exchange ALL of them at one time. For example, you cannot exchange two tickets for another date and keep eight for the original show date. In order to get the group discount, all 10 or more tickets must be for the same date and time.

    What is your refund/exchange policy?

There are no refunds once purchased. All sales are final. You may exchange your tickets, pending availability, for another performance of the same show. We will exchange your tickets at no charge to you. Exchanges must be made in person (with the tickets to be exchanged), and must be made no later than the Thursday before the weekend of the show. There can be no exchanges on the day of the show or during a show weekend. The Box Office does not buy back unused tickets or refund tickets. NOTE: We cannot exchange group tickets.

My friend bought tickets for a show. Can I be seated next to her?

Seating is almost always assigned, and is on a first-come/first-served basis. We highly recommend that you buy tickets at the same time to increase your chances of being seated together. If you purchase seats separately, please find out from your friend what her seat assignments are, as we cannot share that due to privacy concerns. Pending availability, we will do the best we can to accommodate you.

    Can I donate my tickets?

If you cannot attend your performance and do not wish to exchange your tickets, you may donate them for tax credit. Simply return your tickets in person or by mail to the BYT Ticket Office before the scheduled performance.

What if I am late to a performance?

Late seating is often disruptive to audience members; therefore, we cannot seat you once the show has started. You will be seated during intermission. If your seat assignment is easily accessible, we may attempt to seat you during a scene break. Seating after the show has started is at the discretion of the Box Office.

Can we be seated in the front row?

Our non-ambulatory patrons have priority for front row seating. We will release these seats to the general public on the Monday of Tech Week (the Monday prior to a play's first show).

What if I cannot attend due to inclement weather?

If a performance takes place despite weather conditions, Bellevue Youth Theatre will not issue refunds to patrons who did not attend. When in doubt, call 425-452-7155 to confirm a performance.

From I-405, take the NE 8th Street exit going east. Turn left onto 160th Avenue NE (at blinking yellow light). Follow street back into the Crossroads Community Center/BYT parking lot.

From SR-520, take the 148th Street exit. Turn south from the off ramp. Follow 148th, turn left on onto NE 8th Street. Turn left onto 160th Avenue NE (blinking yellow light). Follow street back into the Crossroads Community Center/BYT parking lot.

Call 425-452-7155 before travelling to Bellevue Youth Theatre to ensure the facility is open.

In the event of inclement weather, the Parks & Community Services Department will make every effort to communicate the status of facilities and programs, special events and rentals. Administration will decide whether to cancel a program or close a facility based upon the safety of participants and employees and the ability to appropriately staff programs and facilities.

As a general rule, if the Bellevue School District is closed due to a weather event, Parks & Community Services Department classes and programs will be cancelled for the entire day. However, this doesn't always apply to BYT. Please call us to check the status of our afternoon/evening activities. If the Bellevue School District is on a delayed schedule, call the facility for an updated status report. Select facilities may be open for drop-in activities at a modified level. If you are unable to reach the facility, call the Parks & Community Services Department's general information number at 425-452-6885. Inclement weather can affect park use and trail conditions. Please use caution when visiting park sites during poor weather, as trails and other park facilities may become wet and slippery. Park trails may be closed.
